The Algonquin people originally called the mountain towering above this small city the “trembling mountain” and, translated into French, this is what it is still called today.

Winter is when this village truly comes alive, with world-class ski runs at the nearby resort, but Mont-Tremblant is a true year-round destination. Located about 130 km northwest of Montreal, Mont Tremblant and its surrounding areas are a haven for hiking, cycling, canoeing, fishing, golfing, zip lines, summer gondola, and other activities too numerous to mention.

Tremblant’s summit sits at 875 meters (2871 feet) and offers a breathtaking view of the Laurentians. The ski area covers 305 hectares (755 acres) and includes 102 ski trails on 4 distinct slopes for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. With over 1,200 snowguns, the ski station is one of the most sophisticated and powerful snowmaking systems in North America.

The area surrounding Mont Tremblant village is a haven for outdoor activities in both winter and summer. Visitors traveling in motorhomes or campers can choose from a number of great private campgrounds and in nearby Mont-Tremblant National Park, campsites are available in various sectors. These campgrounds are an ideal base for exploring the Park.
